Markus began his career as a creative director/editor, achieving notable success in Hollywood advertising campaigns. He’s best known for his award-winning trailers and TV spots for The Hunger Games franchise, a global series that grossed over $4 billion. His portfolio spans everything from edgy art-house films to campaigns for directors including Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Driven by a lifelong passion for music and sound design, he partnered with composer David Hlebo to develop DAM’s editor-driven music and sound design tools—unlocking total musical flexibility and empowering editors to shape and enhance music without limits.
Before becoming a multi-faceted film and TV composer, David began his career as a musician and performer, appearing with legends like Dizzy Gillespie and Oliver Nelson at the Monterey Jazz Festival, and later touring with gospel icon Andraé Crouch. He also recorded on multiple EELS albums and joined the band on a world tour.
Together, Markus and David built a company powered by complementary expertise from opposite sides of the industry. Today, DAM delivers one of the most innovative and editor-friendly toolkits available anywhere.
